students with essential skills to be proficient right away. No registration
is required to attend just show up.

Then this is the workshop for you. PowerPoint I will take you through the basics and leave you ready to create your own slideshow presentation. Topics such as creating a presentation, inserting audio and video, color schemes, layout of slides, slide transitions, and inserting images will be covered in this beginning workshop. When you are ready to take the leap into updating your presentations, then come on in and take the PowerPoint I workshop.

| | | ACCESS | | | | - | 10/13/08 | Mon | 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM | Miramar Lab | Phelps Hall 1526 | Introduction: A database solution that allows you to effectively track, report and share information. This course will cover the basics of Access, enabling participants to competently manage databases.

The first level is intended for those with little or no experience with Excel. This workshop will get you familiar with the feel of Excel and its capabilities. By the end of it, you should be comfortable creating worksheets of data, manipulating it through several different types of formulas and even creating simple graphs of your data.
Level II: Ready to take your skills with formulas to a new level? Then look no further than Excel II. Within the advanced workshop topics such as pivot tables, hyperlinks, window manipulation, macro creation, speech imbedding, and validation will be gone over. When you are ready to journey on to this next level, then stop on by the Excel II workshop.

InDesign is a powerful design and production tool that seamlessly embraces features of PageMaker, Photoshop and Illustrator. In this hands-on workshop, students will become familiar with the tool box and will be guided step-by-step, learning to set up a document, place text and graphics, work with frames, create text on a path, draw vector graphics, and produce both PDF files and XML files for the Web.

Intended for those with little or no experience with the software, we are here to get you up to speed with this advanced piece of software. After attending this workshop, you will understand layers, filters, selections, cropping, brushes and more. Tell us exactly what you want to do with Photoshop and we can teach you how to do it!
Level II: Did the beginner's workshop not satisfy your knowledge for Photoshop? In this workshop for users with beginner's knowledge, you will learn about the advanced aspects of Photoshop. We will be covering advanced properties of layers, paths, image adjustments, filters, actions, and masks. You will learn how to adjust photos to make them look better, and create amazing pieces of artwork.

Scanning your old pictures? Getting rid of that red-eye? Creating photo albums for the web? In this workshop, the instructors will use a hands-on approach to teach the basics of integrating the use of your computer into your photography.

HTML is the basis of the internet and anyone interested in being a serious surfer or a career in web design needs to understand what it is all about.Our basic workshop in HTML will get you familiar with all the basic tags that are in most HTML documents. We will teach you how a webpage is layed out and all the important tags such as links, pictures and formatting. By attending this workshop you will be capable of creating your own website completely with Notepad!
Level II: Want to have your web page shout at someone, literally? Then this workshop is for you. Taking where the beginning HTML I workshop left off, HTML II will teach you how to make images have multiple links, create forms, embedding movie and sound files, creating uniform looks for your webpage’s, and how to make icons change when the mouse scrolls over them. When you are ready to move on to these topics, then stop on by the advanced HTML II workshop.

The instructors will use a hands-on approach to training in order to teach you the practical uses of Dreamweaver and HTML, and you will leave with an actual website, and not just some theoretical knowledge.

We will walk you through the basics of creating your own webpage within Dreamweaver. After completing this workshop, you will be able to publish your information for the entire World Wide Web to see!
Level II: Do you already have the basics for webpage creation down and ready to move on to more features? Then this workshop is probably for you. Dreamweaver II picks up where the Dreamweaver I workshop left off and will head into teaching about form creation, frames, creating images with various linking parts, style sheets, and integration of java script and databases. When you are ready to learn more about what Dreamweaver can do for you, then stop on by to the Advanced Dreamweaver Workshop.

Learn to draw and paint in a computer environment and create graphics that will not decrease in quality when resized. This is a great program to learn if you like to draw and create interesting and creative graphics.
| | | FLASH | | | | I | 12/2/08 | Tue | 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM | Leadbetter Lab | Phelps Hall 1530 | | II | 12/4/08 | Thu | 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM | Leadbetter Lab | Phelps Hall 1530 | Level I: In the beginners Flash workshop, we'll teach you the basics of the program and how to get your animations started. you'll learn about 'tweening, how animations happen, and about the basics of interativity with buttons and more. By attending this workshop, you'll be able to make your own Flash cartoons and movies and be ready to move on to our more advanced workshop, Flash II.
Level II: Ready to take your Flash skills to the next level? Then come to the Advanced Flash II workshop. Picking up right where the Flash I workshop left off, you can expect to learn more effects for your animations, adding sound, enhancing your buttons/actions, and much more. When you are ready for this advanced course, then stop on by.
